    What gauge battery cable do I need?

    Wire gauge depends on current load and cable length throughout Brisbane and SE Queensland. Starter circuits need 2 AWG or larger cables, house circuits use 6-10 AWG depending on load. Longer runs require heavier gauge to prevent voltage drop on the Gold Coast. Use marine-grade tinned copper wire only.

    How do I measure for replacement steering cables?

    Measure from helm centre to engine connection following the cable routing path on the Tweed Coast, adding extra for curves. Round up to the next foot increment. Steering cables come in 1-foot increments throughout Brisbane and SE Queensland. Too-short cables bind while slightly long cables simply coil.

    What's the difference between tinned and bare copper wire?

    Tinned copper wire has tin coating that prevents corrosion in marine environments on the Gold Coast. Bare copper wire corrodes quickly in saltwater, causing connection failure. Always use tinned marine-grade wire throughout Brisbane and SE Queensland. Automotive wire fails rapidly in boats.

    Do I need special cable glands for through-deck installations?

    Yes, use waterproof cable glands with proper sealing for through-deck cable runs on the Tweed Coast. They prevent water intrusion while allowing cable pass-through. Choose stainless steel or high-quality plastic glands throughout Brisbane and SE Queensland. Proper cable glands maintain watertight deck integrity.
