Bosuns Locker are privileged to offer perhaps the oldest racing yacht still being campaigned on a regular basis in Australia.
"EUN NA MARA" (Bird of the Sea) can be seen on the water at SoPYC most every race day.
She has had a number of owners & changes to design.
In 1910 the owner Mr W. M Marks took to Melbourne from Sydney to compete against "Sayonara" a fierce competition between NSW & Victoria.
She sailed from Sydney down to Hobart & competed in several Tasmania races, then sailed up to Port Phillip Bay defeated Sayonara & sailed back home to Sydney's RPAYC.
In 1931 William Fife III was commissioned to redesign the rig from cutter/gaff rigged to the Bermudan Rig.
The current owner has been the custodian since 2014 but finds now is the time to pass the battern to another enthusiast. He has spent considerable time & money on a rebuild & re-power over this time.
part of the rebuild was the fitting of 15mm teak decks with mahogany trim. A rebuilt spruce bowsprit, lateral & longitudinal bulk heads replaced in 2020. Veneered ply 25ml bulkheads introduced.
