Description

The Vetus HT1025 is a hydraulic power steering pump for larger boats, reducing helm effort to approximately 10% of a non-powered system — allowing single-finger steering. The pump acts as a rotating proportional valve: turning the wheel opens the control valve and directs pressurised oil to the steering cylinder. Oil flow is proportional to wheel speed and revolutions. A closed mid-position ensures zero oil flow when the wheel is stationary.

The external flange is seawater-resistant anodised aluminium (hand polished). The steering wheel shaft is AISI 4462 stainless steel, Ø19mm, taper 1:12. Designed for the Vetus Power Hydraulics “constant pressure” (load sensing) system. Requires control unit HT1019 when connecting multiple pumps or an autopilot.

Fail-safe: if power assistance fails, the system continues to operate manually with increased effort.
